Leo reduced the weight by creating a cutaway that also allowed easy access to the higher frets. He experimented with many styles and sizes of pickups before he made his final decision. You can walk into any music store and see several Fender strats hanging on the walls. A variety of colors is always available so no matter what you color preference, the Fender Strat has got you covered. When you are buying a Fender Stratocaster don’t let the color be your only deciding factor. Look at all of them, then when you see one that speaks to you, pick it up. Notice the contour of the neck, the weight of the instrument. Gently wrap you hand around the neck, notice the way it feels. Play it unplugged. Does it sounds and feel right to you?
